Proprietorship/Partnership Registration – Print Name Request Form
Registering a Sole Proprietorship or Partnership is the easiest and fastest way to start a new business. It involves a two part process. First, a name approval request is submitted to corporate registry. The business name typically takes 2-3 business days to be approved by a name examiner from the Corporate Registry office. The business name must then be registered with the Corporate Registry within 56 days or the name request will expire.
A business number (GST/HST Number) is automatically produced when your business names is registered. The registration document is called a Statement of Registration. This document is now required by banks to set up a new business bank account.
