BANKRUPTCY SEARCH

Bankruptcy and Insolvency Records Search - The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada contain a nationwide database of the records of:

  • basic debtor information of all bankruptcies and proposals registered in Canada since 1978

  • all receiverships registered since January 1993

  • all petitions recorded; and

  • excluding all companies that have been granted protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) since September 18, 2009.

If you need to find out whether an individual or corporation has been bankrupt in the past, a bankruptcy search will give you the answers.  The database is most often searched by Business or Individual name and can be narrowed to the approximate year the bankruptcy or insolvency was filed.
