A BC Lien Search will ensure the motor vehicle or personal property you are buying is free and clear of any enforceable liens. The search criteria is a VIN or serial number. It is extremely important that the correct VIN or Serial Number is provided, otherwise invalid search results will be generated. Please verify the VIN or Serial Number before submitting this search. If a lien is registered against the vehicle, the search results will provide the secured party's name and address, the debtor's name and address, the registration date and expiry date of the lien. The amount of the lien is not provided.
If there are no liens found, the search result will state: "No registered liens or encumbrances have been found on file." Registration information including ownership of the vehicle is not available.
